Furroughfield Bulletin Board: New Production Progress Highlights + A Holiday Note
12 months ago
– Wed, Dec 20, 2023 at 12:25:29 PM
Howdy Neighbors,
Happy December! It's hard to believe we've already hit the last month in the year. Time flies when you're getting a product ready to print. Speaking of which, let's dive into our production updates.
Production Progress (and pictures!)
Shortly after our last update, we received Pre-Production copies of the Playmat Box, the Animeeples box, the promo characters, double-layer farm boards, and the Achievement Sheet. We're so excited about where these products are landing. The Harvest Box and Playmat Box sit so well next to each other on the shelf, and we are really liking how everything in this little farm universe is so full of character. Take a look!
Over the past month, we've provided notes to Panda about every PPC component we've received. Their team at the factory has been hard at work making corrections based on the feedback we provided. For example, landing the color palette that Tierra Connor and Seth Nickerson (our artist and graphic designer) have worked hard on is really important to us. So, we provided a lot of notes on how colors on components were turning out. Panda has been able to take that feedback and show us corrections and comparisons via photos to shorten the review process. Here's one of the photos they sent us to review the wood Pumpkins update. Through this process, we've approved all their corrections and are down to just two things that need to be reviewed before they start final printing on everything.
The Golden Edition Box sample is in production, as well as GameTrayz's insert. We expect to receive those in the mail to review shortly. Once those are reviewed, corrected as needed, and approved, we will sign off on Panda beginning mass production of the game, and we'll be one big step closer to getting your games to you.
Pledge Manager
Reminder, we are waiting until after the New Year to launch the Pledge Manager for Harvest. You can expect next steps on that in our January update!
As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here in the Kickstarter DM's or via email at [email protected]. Our team will be on break the last week of the year. We return on January 2nd and will get back to any questions y'all send our way as soon as we can once we return.
Have a safe and joyful rest of your year. We cannot wait to share this bountiful Harvest 🌾 with you in 2024. We're so grateful for your trust and support this past year. Thank you for being on this journey with us.
May your plow til true!

Furroughfield Bulletin Board: Production Progress + Pictures, and Pledge Manager Update
about 1 year ago

Howdy Neighbors,
November has come and almost gone already. If you're in the United States, you may be celebrating with some Turkey and loved ones tomorrow. We've got a quick update for you on Harvest production progress and the Pledge Manager. We're having some trouble getting our video uploaded today, so we're sending this off without, and we'll comment with a link to our video portion of the update once it's available.
Production Progress (and pictures!)
We are on schedule with production and in the Pre-Production phase for Harvest. That means we've submitted all the printed material files to Panda. They have reviewed them digitally and made us a handmade copy of the game to check against our files and make sure everything is looking and feeling good.
Below are pictures of the components and game parts we've received to date. They look awesome! We've asked for some minor color corrections on the wood, and updated some print files to make sure everything is visually consistent. On the whole, we are super pleased with how things are looking and hope you are too.
We have received and reviewed the Retail Edition, the common components, and the wood components, submitted updates, and those are ready for print. In the next month, we'll be working to review the Golden Edition, custom insert, and the packaging for the playmats and animeeples you see below. Once everything is reviewed, Harvest will be ready for print!
Pledge Manager
Thanks to everyone who's checked in about when the Pledge Manager is opening up. With the holiday rush for you and us, we've decided to hold off until post-holiday to send out these invitations. We want to wait for things to be a little calmer so we can give y'all our full attention when we open the gates for you to finalize your orders. Thanks for your patience here and for your excitement to get in and claim your Harvest plots!
As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here in the Kickstarter DM's or via email at [email protected].
Have a safe and happy weekend. A very happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating.
May your plow til true!

Furroughfield Bulletin Board: Project Updates and Pledge Manager Next Steps
about 1 year ago

Howdy Neighbors,
Thanks again for joining the Harvest Kickstarter, and welcome to our post-campaign updates! From now until this campaign is fulfilled, we'll be sending out updates once a month. Matt and Jen will join y'all in video form for news on how Harvest manufacturing is going and what we'll need from you, like Pledge Manager surveys. All the information will be available in video form, as well as in writing below. Let's get plowing...
Harvest File Prep WrappingUp
Since the campaign wrapped, the Keymaster Team has been hard at work getting Harvest ready for print. What does that mean exactly? Well, three important things are happening simultaneously. First, we're finalizing the promo character abilities of Gairy, Barry, and Ruthie (#spoileralert - they are lots of fun). Second, we're working on finalizing the layout of the game, which includes taking and implementing the great feedback we received from y'all throughout the campaign. Third, Gametrayz is finalizing the design for the Golden Edition tray, which will hold the most components we've ever put in a game. We cannot wait to show y'all how things are landing. We've been having a lot of fun playing Harvest to get the promo characters tested and are so stoked to get this to your tables.
While we've been working on the game layout, Panda, our manufacturer has been working on samples to help us land custom components, like the metal coins for the Golden Edition you see above. They are feeling great and with a few tweaks will be fully Furroughfield ready. Once character testing, print file layout, and the insert design are finalized, we'll upload files to Panda for pre-press check and final sampling. They'll create pre-production copies of all the products and ship those to us for final review before we approve the game for printing.
Pledge Manager - Coming November
The next thing y'all can expect from us is access to the Pledge Manager. If this is your first Kickstarter campaign, the Pledge Manager is where you will complete your order, add any additional items you want, fill out your shipping address, and finalize payment for any shipping and taxes. We'll send out invites for you to complete your orders in November and it will be open through January for you to make any edits you like to your pledge. We'll post our November update before we send out those invites so you know what to expect and when.
If you backed this campaign using Apple Pay or an Apple Privacy Email, please DM us with an updated email so we can connect to your account. We'll need this for you to receive communication from Backerkit and complete your order.
In the meantime, late pledges for Harvest are open! Know someone that missed the Kickstarter and was looking to grab a copy of the game? Let them know they can late pledge here to secure their very own copy of Harvest.
We'll be back in November ahead of opening the Pledge Manager. Until then, enjoy Halloween/Fall festivities.
May Your Plow Till True!

Howdy Neighbors!
Y'all did it! You've helped make Harvest a reality. We're so excited to bring this game to your tables. Time to kick off your boots, hang your hat, and grab a delicious fresh farm-to-table dinner! We'll take it from here 🧑🌾
What's in Store
You can expect monthly updates from us from here on out. Our team is hard at work finalizing production files to get this game ready for print. That includes finalizing game files for our printer, Panda Game Manufacturing, testing out the new characters you helped us create, and getting the Pledge Manager (Backerkit) ready for you to finalize your orders.
We'll be getting samples of the products along the way and will be sure to show them off with you here as we dive in and make sure every part of the game is singing.
P.S. We received samples of the Animeeples from our printer Panda just today! Here's how they're looking 👀
Furroughfield Bulletin Board: Promo Character Abilities

Howdy Neighbors!
Welcome to all the new farmers joining us on this last leg of our Kickstarter Campaign! We're so excited to have you. If you like, you can retrace the tour we took of our fair town of Furroughfield. Just follow the sign posts in our Kickstarter Updates listed as "Our Tour..." Today, we take a look at the promo character abilities in the Kickstarter Exclusive Promo Pack.
In all of our games, we want art and mechanics to feel like they are equally entwined and inform each other. This is also true for Harvest and our neighborly characters. The Kickstarter promo pack includes the town mayor and two new residents, which means three new abilities to integrate into the game and blend with their personalities. Let's take a look at how they are coming along!
Gairy - Both the feature of our Solo gameplay and now his own playable character. So we've incorporated the Interrupting Cow deck into his ability. Every turn in the round, you'll have a choice of picking your own spot on the board or flipping over a Gairy tile and visiting the spot shown, even if it's already occupied by another player token.
Barry - Our visitor from Parks! An esteemed trailblazer and ranger in his own right, he joins the farmstead to share some sustainable ways to clear land while you plan out your plots. Whenever you clear land on your farm, you'll be able to recycle some of those materials and build right away or continue foraging the land with the Forest Die.
Ruthie - Looking for a good deal? Ruthie's got your back. A thrifter at heart, she's always on the lookout for any good deals the harvest has brought in. You'll be able to use money as fertilizer when you play Ruthie. You'll also get an additional action at the General Store to score some extra crops.
These character abilities will get additional playtesting to make sure they mesh well and feel just as rewarding and fun as the core character abilities in the game. That will be a core focus for our team in the coming weeks after the campaign wraps up.
Now we head into the final day! We'll see y'all tomorrow to celebrate crossing this campaign's finish line and to provide details on what you can expect from us as we prep for production and fulfillment of the campaign.
